--- Incredible Hulk --- Ultimate Destruction
On this current generation of consoles, the undisputed most popular game is Grand Theft Auto. It's a game that's been widely copied for its "sandbox" type of gameplay, meaning you can go wherever and do whatever you want in a "living world". Actually, this type of game has been around a long, long time. But what's different about GTA is that there are a lot of things you can do that really have nothing to do with the actual game--the part that has a story and progressive missions. What I find funny is that in a game that gives you a lot of optional, non-story related things to do, most people enjoy just causing mayhem a lot more than the "real" game. Your average person who plays GTA spends his time stealing cars, running over people, killing cops, blowing up stuff, etc. That turned out to be the enjoyable part of the game (and that's why it got so much attention, because killing cops, hookers, and innocent bystanders is bad, kids...). So here's another game that copies GTA's "sandbox" formula, and it's absolutely perfect for it. In the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, you can wander around and kill civilians, blow up stuff, and generally destroy everything. And the scale of destruction--and the satisfaction and release you get from it--is on a scale that GTA has never attempted. And the best part is, the story missions are also really enjoyable, because they're mostly about destroying a bunch of stuff, too. :-) So if you enjoyed GTA because you enjoyed harmlessly releasing frustrations by shooting everything in sight, get your hands on the Hulk. It's ten times as satisfying, at least. Here are a few videos of us playing the Hulk, showing off some of the things you can do:
Click the picture below for a large video (41 MB) of a sampling of the type of destruction you can cause.

Last year's Spider-Man 2 game, also a "sandbox" game, took some criticism because you couldn't beat up the innocent bystanders. Hulk really can't help a few corpses here and there when there are tanks and flying mechs shooting at him, but he can still be nice (or not) to civilians if he wants to. Check out the video (7MB) by clicking the picture.
And lastly, what would a game be without a couple of hilarious bugs? We found two big ones in the Hulk, but they didn't crash the game, so that's good. Check them out: This first one happens while I was beating up a mech. I threw him at a cow, and then picked him back up--and got the cow, too! The game treated it as if I were holding a cow on the ground (over my head--mechs get held out in front of the Hulk), but holding a mech in the air (it let me beat him up--cows just get thrown away no matter which button you press). The picture links to an 8MB video (crappy camera version, sorry).
Bug #2 features Bruce after he's fallen into an invisible lake in the middle of the desert town. He's stuck in there for a while, but manages to get out. Weird... The picture links to a 3.5 MB video file.
